Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

In my opinion, you can never learn too much about promotion and marketing. As a matter of fact, once you have some technology under your belt, have a website up and going then no less than 50% of the time you spend working your business should be spent promoting, prospecting and building relationships.

The time you spend promoting and marketing your business is the ONLY activity that is going to earn you a living and then some. You can have the best product in the world, but if no one knows about it what good is it?

No one likes spam emails and while eMail marketing is very key in marketing on the web, you must first get people’s agreement to receive your messages. Once you get that agreement in the form of an opt-in list, then use eMail to keep in touch.

What are the key methods to keep in touch through eMail?

1. Newsletters
2. eCourses
3. Auto Response messages

How do you get people to opt-in?

With a squeeze page or landing page. But remember you still have to promote the landing page. I want to call your attention to my letter today. I know many won’t but Jay is a guy to listen to and you have the opportunity to listen to him free this weekend. I do hope that you will take advantage of this teleconference.

Now, by ‘YOU’, I probably don’t mean ‘You’, but most of the collective ‘You-s’ who are reading this email.

Barely 1 in 100 subscribers take ANYTHING I say to heart – so why should this be different, right?

This guy has helped me take a 4-figure a year business. Many people ask me where I get my advice, well this is one of those guys.

He’s doing a free call sharing some of his methods. The telecast is scheduled for this weekend so sign up now, don’t get left out.

Like I said, take it or leave it.

Here’s where to sign up. If I were you, I’d do it right away.

P.S. – Jay Abraham is one of the most respected and reputed business gurus in the world. He has generated over $7.8 BILLION for his clients. Think he’s worth listening to and learning from?

Ice Breakers
Ears

I was the nurse caring for a couple’s newborn first child,
a son, after his cesarean birth. Since the mother was
asleep under general anesthesia, we took our tiny charge
directly to the newborn nursery to introduce him to his
daddy.

While cuddling his son for the first time, he noticed the
baby’s ears conspicuously standing out from his head.
He expressed his concern that some kids might call his
son names like “Dumbo.”

The pediatrician reassured the new dad that his son
was healthy and the ears could be easily corrected
during childhood.

The father still worried about his wife’s reaction to
those large protruding ears. “She doesn’t take things
as easily as I do,” he worried.

By this time, the new mother was ready to meet her
precious son. I placed the tiny bundle in his mother’s
arms and eased the blanket back so that she could
gaze upon her child for the first time.

She took one look at her baby’s face and looked
to her husband and gasped, “Oh, Honey! Look!
He has your ears!”

Tips and Techniques

Building relationships means a give and take. If you always take and never give the relationship will sour and probably quite quickly. if you are always giving and never get anything in return most people somehow feel “used.” So what is a good common ground?

Personally, giving of my time, my knowledge and of myself never gets old or tiring. Why? Because every time someone tells me that a strategy or what a bit of advice did for them, I get!

Fullfillment is the common ground, Be always thankful for what you get in return because too often it goes un-noticed or taken for granted.

Good Morning!

Passion is that quality that moves a person beyond the ordinary execution of a task. With passion the objective becomes a personal quest. Extra hours do not mean anything. Skipping meals is a natural occurence, believe me it doesn’t help and can actually make matters worse. The objective has given certain meaning to existence and the fulfilment of the goals is a journey of excitement and most often pure joy.

People who have broken out of the ordinary learn to love their participation in life. They often go against the grain. When others shy away from a task, they seek it. They may be the first to volunteer. They tackle it with excitement. This kind of attitude spreads to others and the person may become what tom Peters calls a “champion”

Champions are the building blocks of a successful business. They may be hte owner, or an up and coming affiliate in the program. Champions know that they will make mistakes nad fail, but they also know that it is precisly these mistakes and failures that help them succees as they perform tasks that are deemed impossible by ordinary standards.

The I.D. Pun Tragedy

I was somewhere in the South, driving a little over the
speed limit, when a police officer pulled me over.

A big, burly trooper who looked like Sheriff Buford T. Justice from the Smokey and the Bandit movies approached my window and asked, “You got any I.D.?”

I asked him, “About what?”

Something Different

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Never has it been more important or interesting or more fulfilling to be curious. The world is changing at an explosive pace. Those who win or succeed in today’s world are those who can recognice and embrace new ideas and concepts, while a maintaining strong foundation built on moral ethics and values.

Experience is a wonderful teacher, however, don’t let your past experience limit your thinking today. Unfortunately, the older we get the more we are in danger of becoming close minded. Experience is best used when it is continually renewed and updated with current information.

Try something new today. Meet a new person. Turn down a road that you have never explored before. Consider an opposing position. Read a magazine that is out of your field and completely foreign to you. There is a whole new world out there to explore. Don’t miss it.

Think for just a minute suppose no one ever asked, “I wonder what if…?” Would we still be living in the dark ages?

Name The States

An old pastor made it a practice to visit the parish
school one day a week. He walked into the 4th grade class, where the children were studying the states, and asked them how many states they could name. They could only come up with about 40 names.

He jokingly told them that in his day students knew the
names of all the states.

One lad snickered, “Yes, but in those days there were only
13.”

A Balancing Act

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

A good productive day of work enables us to rest well at night, don’t you think?

Life is a continuous cycle of work (effort) and rest. The effectiveness of each depends on the other. Sleep too much and you will feel awful. Sleep too little and you will feel awful. Work too much and your whole life suffers. Work too little and your whole life suffers. It is a balancing act for sure. Get out of balance and nothing works right.

I have a theory on why we get sick. We get sick because we have allowed something to get out of balance. To be well, stay alert and be effective in what we do, we must have balance.

Goal setting is no different, there must be a great deal of balance in your goals. They must be challenging enough to stimulate the imagination and they must be real enough to be met. They must address all areas of your life from personal, professional, spiritual, in your relationships, diet and exercise.

Create balance in your daily activities and you will certainly get more from life.

Bachelor Cooking

Two confirmed bachelors were sitting and talking. Their
conversation drifted from sports to cooking.
“I got a cookbook once,” said the first, “but I could
never do anything with it.”

“Too much fancy cooking in it?” asked the second.

“You said it. Every one of the recipes began the same way,

‘Take a clean dish and…'”

Successful people work with enthuasiasm. They live by their commitments, not their emotions. Most of what gets done in the world is accomplished by people who do the right thing even when they don’t feel like it.

Performance Matters

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

In our Reach to Achieve class we talk about the various kinds of goals as being lifetime, long term, short term, this year (business plan) this month, this week and today. There is still one more type of goal that cannot be omitted from the list.

Proper goal setting is a very powerful and effective technique that can yield strong returns in all areas of life. At its simplest level the process of setting goals and targets allows you to choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know what you have to concentrate on and improve, and what is merely a distraction to your focus.

By setting goals and measuring their achievement, you are aboe to see what you have done and what you are capable of. The process of achieving goals and seeing their achievement builds confidence and self belief needed to achieve higher and more difficult goals.

It is very important to set not only outcome goals but also performance goals, you see there is such a thing as getting something done to get it out of the way and there is getting someting done that will in fact rock your world.

Refrigerator

As infantrymen stationed in the Panama Canal Zone,
we’d often complain that the enlisted men’s barracks
didn’t have refrigerators. After one particularly hot
day of maneuvers in the tropical sun, I returned to
find out that I’d received orders for transfer to Fort
Wainwright in Alaska.

My buddies teased me, saying that when I got to
Alaska I would find out what the Army did with all
their refrigerators.

I arrived at Fort Wainwright at the end of December.
Sure enough, each enlisted man’s room had an
Army-issued refrigerator.

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.”
-Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Tips and Techniques
Go ahead and make plans to achieve your dreams, just be sure to keep the results within your control as much as possible. If you think you can do 10% better than you are doing right now great, but if you know you are capaple of a 2% increase and actually do it you will soon believe the 10% is possible.

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

James Allen wrote in his book As A Man Thinketh that just like a gardener cultivates his garden keeping it free from weeks we have to continually cultivate our mind pruning the roses and getting rid of the thorns and thistles.

I heard a story once a very long time ago it seems that I wanted to share with you too. The speaker said, and I can’t remember who it was or even where I was, but it made such an impression I don’t think I will ever forget it.

What would you do to someone who came into your living room and dumped a bucket of garbage on the floor? You would probably call the police or at the very least throw them out.

Yet, you allow people and things to throw garbage on your mind every day. Learn to protect it. Learn to nourish it. Learn to look forward to your study time each and every day. Learn to look forward to networking with others and sharing your gifts.

Sunday Morning Service…

The minister gave his Sunday morning service, as
usual, but this particular Sunday, it was considerably
longer than normal. Later, at the door, shaking hands
with parishioners as they moved out, one man said,

“Your sermon, Pastor, was simply wonderful……..
so invigorating and inspiring and refreshing.”

The minister of course, broke out in a big smile,
only to hear the man say,

“Why I felt like a new man when I woke up!”

Tips and Techniques
Positive thinking is not namby-pamby optimism or blind wishful thinking. It is a focused method of examining, weeding out, and correcting harmful and destructive thought processes and patterns. We may not always create our reality but we certainly can influence it by how we choose to react to those things around us.

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

***ALERT*** 2 days until Valentines’s Day. Did you get something special for that special person in your life? No it doesn’t have to be something expensive, it just has to be.

A key to being effective.

Every moment of every day, you are making an investment of something extremely valuable- you time. You cannot save time to use later, it must be used as it comes. We all get the same amount of it – 24 hours each and every day. Success in life is largely determined by how effectively we use our allotment of time.

To get the most out of the time you have focus your efforts on doing the things that will have the most significant impact on your life and your work. Some people tell you to always do the big things first, and stay on the task until it is done.

I want to tell you that yes, that is important but it is more often the little things that will keep you from getting the big things done.

Hand

Our National Guard unit is long on officers and short
on enlisted men, so lieutenants often help load trucks
or do other manual labor.

As we were preparing for summer camp, a couple of
sergeants muscling a trunk up a flight of stairs spotted
a junior officer. “Hey, lieutenant,” one called out, “can
you give us a hand?”

“Sure,” he replied. “What do you want me to do —
supervise or delegate?”

Tips and Techniques

Your time is very precious and cannot be replaced. Once it is spent it is gone. That moment will never be back again. Use you time wisely, but using it effectively. Stay focused, stay on task and pay attention to the details. If a thing is done right the first time you never have to waste time by redoing it.
