Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Life certainly can get very interesting at times, don’t you think? There is so much talk these days about the ecomomy and the state of affairs in this country and the world.

It certainly does prove just how intertwined our world really is. This economic situation is world wide. Why does something like this happen? Why does it happen?

Just like the Ponzi scheme unethical business practices can only last so long before the bottom drops out of everything. Just what is a Ponzi scheme? Essentially it is a payment plan whereby the new entrants pay those that came into the plan earlier. What makes it illegal is there is no product.

What made the Madoff scheme last as long as it did? It was built on a false product, paper and stocks that didn’t really exist. It was well hidden behind what appeared to be ligitimate.

Why do people fall for schemes and scams? That really is an easy one to answer. People, yes all of us want to believe that everyone is good and have our interests at heart. There is a strong desire for money you don’t have to work for. You can only trade so many hours of real work for pay so people are looking to “leverage” their money instead of their time. The risk is high, the time to honestly learn how to do it can be very long. The rewards can also be very high.

Having a dream is a good thing, I highly recommend it, but it always has been and always will be – buyer beware. We have just as much right to fail as we have to succeed and have to accept when there is failure there is something more to learn.

A young bride was scouring the aisles of the supermarket.
Up and down each aisle she went, then started over again.

The store manager noticed this and went over to her.
“Can I help you find something, miss?” he asked.

“t’s Mrs.!”, she said proudly, “I just got married.”

“Congratulations, ” said the manager. “What can I help you find?”

“Scratch,” she replied.

“Scratch?” he asked, “Is that a new cleanser or something?”

“No silly,” she replied brightly. “My husband told me that
his mother made everything from scratch, so I need to find

In my opinion, you can never learn too much about promotion and marketing. As a matter of fact, once you have some technology under your belt, have a website up and going then no less than 50% of the time you spend working your business should be spent promoting, prospecting and building relationships.

The time you spend promoting and marketing your business is the ONLY activity that is going to earn you a living and then some. You can have the best product in the world, but if no one knows about it what good is it?

No one likes spam emails and while eMail marketing is very key in marketing on the web, you must first get people’s agreement to receive your messages. Once you get that agreement in the form of an opt-in list, then use eMail to keep in touch.

What are the key methods to keep in touch through eMail?

1. Newsletters
2. eCourses
3. Auto Response messages

How do you get people to opt-in?

With a squeeze page or landing page. But remember you still have to promote the landing page. I want to call your attention to my letter today. I know many won’t but Jay is a guy to listen to and you have the opportunity to listen to him free this weekend. I do hope that you will take advantage of this teleconference.

Now, by ‘YOU’, I probably don’t mean ‘You’, but most of the collective ‘You-s’ who are reading this email.

Barely 1 in 100 subscribers take ANYTHING I say to heart – so why should this be different, right?

This guy has helped me take a 4-figure a year business. Many people ask me where I get my advice, well this is one of those guys.

He’s doing a free call sharing some of his methods. The telecast is scheduled for this weekend so sign up now, don’t get left out.

Like I said, take it or leave it.

Here’s where to sign up. If I were you, I’d do it right away.

P.S. – Jay Abraham is one of the most respected and reputed business gurus in the world. He has generated over $7.8 BILLION for his clients. Think he’s worth listening to and learning from?

I was the nurse caring for a couple’s newborn first child,
a son, after his cesarean birth. Since the mother was
asleep under general anesthesia, we took our tiny charge
directly to the newborn nursery to introduce him to his

While cuddling his son for the first time, he noticed the
baby’s ears conspicuously standing out from his head.
He expressed his concern that some kids might call his
son names like “Dumbo.”

The pediatrician reassured the new dad that his son
was healthy and the ears could be easily corrected
during childhood.

The father still worried about his wife’s reaction to
those large protruding ears. “She doesn’t take things
as easily as I do,” he worried.

By this time, the new mother was ready to meet her
precious son. I placed the tiny bundle in his mother’s
arms and eased the blanket back so that she could
gaze upon her child for the first time.

She took one look at her baby’s face and looked
to her husband and gasped, “Oh, Honey! Look!
He has your ears!”

Building relationships means a give and take. If you always take and never give the relationship will sour and probably quite quickly. if you are always giving and never get anything in return most people somehow feel “used.” So what is a good common ground?

Personally, giving of my time, my knowledge and of myself never gets old or tiring. Why? Because every time someone tells me that a strategy or what a bit of advice did for them, I get!

Fullfillment is the common ground, Be always thankful for what you get in return because too often it goes un-noticed or taken for granted.

Training a Bird Dog

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Ask for referals! I honestly don’t understand why this is so hard for many new business people.

It is probably as old as time itself to ask a simple, “who do you know that…” Maybe nothing will come to mind off the cuff so to speak, but if you ask he will eventually think of someone.

We have been talking about bird dogs and when you think about it bird dogs have to be trained, they don’t automatically know what to do when you take them hunting now do they? They don’t just know how to stand still, they don’t just know what you want them to do until you train them and reward them profusely.

What does he need to know?

How much information does he need to have?

How does he know what you want him to do?

Well my friend, you have to teach him. Do you want him to sell a product for you? Probably not. You just want him to point out the prospect, tell you a little about this person and what makes him a good prospect for you then let you take over. Remember, if he could sell the product for you he would probably be a salesman and make the kind of commissions you do.

What information does he need to have?

How about brochures or business cards that would lead the prospect to call you or go visit your website.

What information do you need to have?

A name, address, phone number and why this person would be a good prospect for you.
Never forget to tell your bird dog that you will use his name or business name in your contact with an individual.

Now on the Internet this can also be done by adding a “Tell A Friend Form” and it can be done almost automatically so that you can prequalify a prospect thus saving time and money. How do you add a tell a firend script? Well just check out today’s tip in the blog and I will tell you.

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking
Business Process Management (BPM) is a set of activities performed by organizations to improve or streamline their business processes. Since software tools are usually used to aid these activities, these software tools are referred to as Business Process Management Systems.

– Business Process Management Systems

Business Process Management has been in place for some time now. Due to the introduction of software tools, however, there has been renewed interest in the body of knowledge pertaining to BPM.

These software tools make design and implementation of Business Process Management easier, cheaper, and more efficient. There are three categories of Business Process Management activities – design, execution and monitoring.

1. Design

Designing BPM involves capturing the existing processes in a
business environment. These processes must be modeled in a way
that they can be simulated and tested. Modeling these processes
usually involves graphical representation methods that document
the processes and stores this data in repositories.

2. Execution

Traditionally, to implement automation in a business
organization, developers would have to be contracted to develop
applications that automate certain processes. Unfortunately, the
scope of these projects was often too narrow. The result of
which is that the automation is not well integrated into the
business environment since the automation only deals with a
particular department or function. BPMS champions a method that
pushes for the development of applications that encompass the
entire business process. It aims to fully automate the business
environment only stopping to query the user when human
intervention is absoultely necessary.

3. Process monitoring

Process monitoring involves observing and taking note of the
performance of the individual processes so that evaluation and
intervention become more straightforward for the business
organization. From the information gleaned from here, the
business organization’s leaders can make further decisions on
the direction the business process takes. The data from this
activity can be used to generate different kinds of statistics
that are necessary when having to make critical decisions.
Business Process Management is an iterative process.

4. The Future

Although BPM strives to automate the mechanical processes of a
business, there has been interest in developing BPMs that move
into the territory of human judgment. Some of the processes
involved in a business environment are not included in the
automation because some sort of human decision is needed. With
the growing complexity of information systems – especially
studies into decision support systems and artificial
intelligence – some human decision-making processes can
actually be automated. This is the future goal of BPM, to
futher automate previously unautomatable processes.

– The Business Process Management Ideals

In 1920, Frederick Taylor outlined three waves of business
ideals in managing processes. These waves represented the ways
of thinking business process engineers had.

Wave 1. Processes Set In Stone

They are secured in business policy manuals. The manual is the
basis of the process, and the organization has to abide by it.

Wave 2. Processes Changed Once In A While

Using a one-time activity, changes can be made. This means that
the business would have to build their processes around a fixed
system since change can only come once in a while, and at a
great cost.

Wave 3. Processes On-The-Fly

The primary consideration in such systems is flexibility to
change. Businesses that adhere to this goal create business
environments that can adapt to its changing needs. This setup
also allows the business to constantly fine tune its
operations. This wave is not about business-process
re-engineering. It is about maintaining an environment that is
constantly on its toes, ready to adapt to the circumstance, and
maximize its strengths while downplaying its weaknesses.

Change is the only constant, they say. In this modern day and
age, this could not be truer. The survival of a business could
very well rely on its ability to constantly tweak its processes
according to the whims of change. With the growing body of
knowledge concerning Business Process Management, the path
towards a sustainable market advantage based on a streamlined,
flexible business organization can only get clearer.

Fire Extinguisher

When employees of the restaurant where I work attended a fire-safety seminar, we watched a fire official demonstrate

the proper way to operate an extinguisher. “Pull the pin like a hand grenade,” he explained, “then depress the trigger to release the foam.”

Later, an employee was selected to extinguish a controlled fire in the parking lot. In her nervousness, she forgot to pull the pin.

Our instructor hinted, “Like a hand grenade, remember?”

In a burst of confidence, she pulled the pin-and hurled the extinguisher at the blaze.
