Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

What is your commitment to excellence?

Do you have one? Is OK good enough? Sometimes it is, but most of the time I have to say no it isn’t.

OK is great when you begin a new project and are learning. It takes wins and sometime it can be a very small one. Once you can do something it then takes practice and getting better and better until it looks easy in the eyes of the beholder.

Have you ever watched the “Joy in Painting”? Doesn’t he make it look so easy to create magnificent oil paintings? If your goal is to create oil paintings, yes you can get his workbooks and his instructions and if the desire is there you can even copy his techniques. If you are creating for the sheer joy of creating, then good is OK. After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

If you are painting with the goal of becoming accomplished and selling your work then OK is never good enough.

Whatever you do, don’t dabble commit to and be the very best you can be.

Ice Breakers

After booking my 80-year-old grandmother on a flight from Florida to Nevada, I called the airline to go over her special needs. The representative listened patiently as I requested a wheelchair and an attendant for my mother because of her arthritis and impaired vision to the point of near blindness

My apprehension lightened a bit when the woman assured me that everything would be taken care of. I thanked her profusely.

“Oh, you’re welcome,” she replied. I was about to hang up when she cheerfully asked, “And will your grandmother need a rental car?”

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Successful People Have a Dream

Successful people ask the question: “What is possibly missing that I could do today to move me closer to achieving my dream?” They ask this question every hour of every day.

They have it printed on the bathroom mirror, on their computer monitor and on their dashboard: “What is possibly missing?”

They understand that nothing kills accomplishment like trying to be perfect. They seek excellence, which allows for making mistakes and learning from them. Progress, not perfection is the value we strive for.

Successful people have ambition.

They want to accomplish something. They have enthusiasm, commitment, and pride. They
have self-discipline.There is more self-discipline in practice than there is perfection.

The Cheese Wheel

Mexican family crosses the border to the Land ofMilk and Honey where the streets are
paved with gold. But the husband can find no work. His familyis hungry, so he takes a walk to a quiet place atthe foot of a big hill, kneels at the base of a tree, and begins to pray:

“Sweet Jesus, please show me a way to feed my family…”Eyes closed, the Mexican does not see a black mancoming over the top of the hill, who is strugglingwith a broken grocery sack and who loses a wheel of cheese.

When the Mexican man opens his eyes, the large wheel of Cheddar cheese from the Black
man’s grocery bag rolls down the hill and lands at the Mexican’s feet!

“Oh, thank you Jesus, thank you”, he cries, grabs the cheese, and runs straight home.

Upon returning home, he gives the cheese to his wife and instructs her to make nachos.”But wouldn’t you rather have cheese enchiladas and burritos and other things?”

she inquires. “No,” the husband says,

“Jesus sent this to me with amessage….. as I ran home, I kept hearing a voice yelling …………… “THAT’S NA CHO CHEESE!”

Big Mistake

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Is this mistake killing your profits?

You think your ad or your product is important.? Well maybe it is, but not to your customers. It’s important to you, your family, your friends, and your employees. But that’s as far as it goes.

Customers don’t care. They don’t wait eagerly to get your sales pitch on their computer, or in the mail. So if you want to grab their attention – and keep it – you must do something drastic.
And to do this, you must understand how to structure your ad.

So let’s consider the components of your ad.

Most important!

Your title waves down the reader. It shouts, “Hey, read me now!” And what is that vital, not-to-be-missed thing that should stop your reader in his tracks? Is it your crash hot product?
No! Chances are they’ll pass right by your ad. They might have a mild interest in your product, but you’d better be able to seize their attention, to reach out and grab them by the throat in order to make your case.

You accomplish this by featuring a benefit in your title that is so potent, it can’t be passed over.

Look, you have only a few seconds to hold their attention. So you’ve got to roll out your biggest, loudest gun right away – prominently. Make it so irresistible that only an idiot would pass it by.

Now I shall share with you a colossal one-word change in an ad that has doubled results – and can double results for you.

Here it is:

The word is “YOU”.

One word. It’s so simple, but it means SO MUCH! So think of ways you can include words
like “you” or “your” in the title. “You” words instantly attract the reader’s interest.

It’s vital that you don’t talk about yourself, your business, or your products. This is one of the most costly errors you can possibly make. Customers care about themselves, their problems, important goals they’d like to achieve, and the things that will make their lives easier or better. That’s just human nature. This means you focus on your readers – their wants, their problems. Talk about how they can get rid of their problem and get what they want by having your product or service.
It boils down to this:
You have pain? Get product. No more pain.
You have want? Get product. Your want is fulfilled.

Here’s what you do. You create a powerful customer benefit headline. You speak directly to the customer.

Read your copy for “feel”. Imagine you are the reader. Does it make you feel like you and the writer have a lot in common? That you have the same problems, goals, and aspirations? That “feel,” that sense of warmth and empathy, can substantially boost your sales.

3. Your OFFER

Again, make it personal: “You will receive…”
“You will save time and money.”
So have fun re-working that ad. Here’s to success unlimited!

Blind Comment

I’m a counselor who helps coordinate support groups for visually-impaired adults. Many participants have a condition known as macular degeneration, which makes it very difficult for them to distinguish facial features.

I had just been assigned to a new group and was introducing myself. Knowing that many in the group would not be able to see me well, I jokingly said, “For those of you who can’t see me, I’ve been told that I look like a cross between Paul Newman and Robert Redford.”

Immediately, one woman called out, “We’re not THAT blind!”

What is my definition of making truly SERIOUS MONEY?

SERIOUS MONEY is earning several thousands of dollars per month from all of your online efforts. Is this also your idea of truly SERIOUS MONEY?

1. Make, Offer and Own Your Own Product or Service. This is the KEY ingredient of the recipe. You MUST make, offer and own your very own unique service or product.

2. Have A Payment System In Place. You MUST have a payment system in place that will allow your customers to pay for your product or service online.

3. Identify Your Customers. You MUST know who is your customer and you MUST know why
they would want to purchase your product or service.

Afterall, that is the natural progression of a business transaction, be it in the real world or online in cyberspace. You attract the attention of a potential customer via COMMUNICATION, you INFORM the customer fully what, how and why your product or service will benefit their lives and you receive PAYMENT for the transfer of your goods or services.

I am having difficulty installing NOF, it seems to install but then nothing works.

It has been my experience that if you have Norton running on your machine it is a good idea to turn it off until you install NOF and many other programs as well. In Vista, you may have to install as an administrator.

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

“How To Make SERIOUS Money On The Internet!”

Some people actually come online to make money.

They join every affiliate program and MLM opportunity in sight, they email everyone they can, place ads in all the FREE Ad sites that are available, join discussion groups and basically invest HUGE amounts of time and effort for the sole purpose of reaping a profit.

Does anyone actually make any money online?

They do make money working online.

Some folks are even lucky enough to make a LOT of money working online, more often than not by being one of the first to join a program that gets hot. But the vast majority of people operating as I have described above, will NOT make significant amounts of income.

Sure, you can make money working as an affiliate for some other online enterprise. But you are working for someone else. The best you can hope for is to earn a small percentage of the total take involved. And, many have made money with MLM projects online but this is also a situation where you are working for someone else and for a small percentage.

You will earn those small $20 or $25 commission checks after investing several months of hard work and so much time that you are lucky to reap a few pennies per hour of your time nvested.

That is NOT the way to make money online, that is the way to earn meager money only.

But there is a secret to breaking that meager money cycle. You will NEVER make significant amounts of money working online until you change one key ingredient of the online money making recipe.

Just follow the above fundamental, KEY ELEMENTS, and you will be successful in making truly SERIOUS MONEY.

Tune in tomorrow for A.T. Rendon’s key ingredients

Broken Lamp

Billy called his mother from his friend Charlie’s house and confessed he had broken a lamp when he threw a football in their living room.

“But, Mom,” he said, brightening, “you don’t have to worry about buying another one Charlie’s mother said it was irreplaceable.”

Tips and Techniques

I have a 4 page website that has the master page but no layout on the home page. How do I add a layout to the page? Thanks Eddie

Check that the left/right and top/bottom master border tabs aren’t squished together.
Look for the grey tabs on the ruler and drag them apart. Go to this tutorial:
http://www.efuse.com/tutor/Page/M-Border/m-border.html and look at the “Resizing a Master Border” section. Also look at http://www.efuse.com/Build/fusion__pageview.html#masterborder in the Setting a Page Size section. Those tutorials are old, but still apply to NOF10, NOF has gone through many upgrades but the basic elements have all remained the same.

Good News

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Have you had a large helping of good news lately?

A woman called her pastor. “We just won $100 million in the lottery!” she exclaimed. “But I’m afraid to tell my husband. He has a weak heart and I’m afraid he may have a heart attack. Pastor, would you be able to tell him for me?” she asked.

The clergyman thought that perhaps he could, so he came right over and sat down with the man. “What would you do,” he began, “if you were to win $500,000 in the lottery?”

“My wife could quit her job and I could work less and relax more,” the man said.

“What would you do if you were to win one million dollars in the lottery?” the pastor asked.

“If I were to win that much we could both retire,” the man said. “Life would be good.”

The pastor forged on. “Well, what would you do if you were to win five million dollars?”

“We could do anything we wanted!” he exclaimed. “We could travel, live anywhere in the world and enjoy a life we never dreamed we could live!”

Finally the clergyman got to it. “Tell me…what would you do if you won ten million dollars in the lottery?”

“Ten million dollars? Why, if I ever won that much, Pastor, I’d give half of it to you and the church!”

The pastor had a heart attack.

It might be dangerous to pass along too much good news all at once. But, on the other hand, I’d rather be exposed to a huge helping of good news than bad.

And I’d rather dish out the good – even if it only comes in small bites. A day nibbling on bite-sized bits of encouragement and good will can fill a life so full that there is no room for that junk that only hurts us.

It’s a diet for health and happiness.

Blah, Blah, Blah

The CEO was scheduled to speak at an important convention, so he asked one of his employees to write him a punchy, 20-minute speech.

When the CEO returned from the big event, he was furious.

“What’s the idea of writing me an hour-long speech?”
he demanded to know. “Half the audience walked out before I finished.”

The employee was baffled. “I wrote you a 20-minute speech,” he replied. “I also gave you the two extra copies you asked for.”

Tips and Techniques

Hi, been running NOF 10 in XP Pro, no problems, wanting to upgrade system to Vista Business and have a precautionary question.

Need to reload all my apps, my NOF 10 is an upgrade purchased via download. The purchase documentation says this:

NetObjects Fusion 10 Upgrade (Download) 1 Download Version English Win2000/Win98SE/WinME/WinNT/WinXP Item No.: 216003-085

It does not explicately say Vista, so just wanted to make sure before installing. Would this work or do I need a Vista version? Thanks in advance.

I use NOF 10 with Vista with no difficulties. A couple of things to do, however. Once you install NOF, check for updates. Install in administrator mode and all should work fine.
