Good Morning!

I Have Been Thinking

This is the final issue of the Winning Way for 2006. and number 1092 since it began as a daily newsletter three years ago. I have posted well over 4000 ads for subscribers and most important of all, I have made a lot of friends in my readership. I want to say to you all thank you so much for your support.

Do I find it difficult to write something new and different every morning? Yes, sometimes I do, but most of the time it just flows. Why? Because I am doing the same thing you are – working my business on line. There is so much to learn and so much to do what’s more just as soon as you think you have it down, the Internet changes and so your tactics have to change with it.
In Networking, what worked in the 70s and 80s doesn’t work today, yet there are hundreds of companies out there that still run their marketing company the same way with big front loading of product. There are still many that have huge monthly minimums and while it is true product has to move from manufacturer to consumer in quantity in order to pay profits of any kind, the average part timer and especially the new comer may work months or sometimes even years before getting any kind of return on investment.

My friends and I are working on programs and systems to make working a business easier and put money in your pocket faster. But the fact of the matter is if you want to make a living working on line then you have to put your nose to the grind stone and 1. learn, 2. work your business, and 3. teach others. If you are not doing these three things, then my friend you are struggling and spinning your wheels and more often than not getting no where.
Can I tell you that you will earn a million dollars in the next year? No, but neither can anyone else.

Can I tell you that there will be no investment on your part? No, I can’t and if “they” are honest, neither can anyone else.

Can I tell you that my friends and I are available to answer your questions and help you build your business? Absolutely!

Come along for the ride! We are having the time of our lives.

Koster had an operation and was coming out of the ether. He looked at the two other patients in nearby beds and said, “Thank God that’s over!” “Don’t be too sure,” said Benson in the next bed, “they left a sponge in me and had to cut me open again.” Rankin in a bed on the other side of Koster added, “They had to open me up too, just to recover one of their instruments.” Just then the doctor stuck his head in the door and called, “Anyone seen my hat?” Koster fainted.

Just Around the Corner

Good Morning!

I Have Been Thinking

The New Year is just around the corner – three days remaining in 2006. How did you do this year? Take a look see how much you accomplished and I dare say it is more than you believe it is.
How many new friends did you find?
How many new things did you learn?
How many new places did your visit?
How many web sites did you surf to in order to learn something new or that reminded you of something a thought that was long forgotten
Having a grateful heart and attitude will take you far in this world. Have you ever experienced when you give away something of yourself, you get two somethings in return? I find those somethings are like a symphony when they come in the form of “Thank you!, I just …”

Money is important in this world. It is a necessity for food, clothing a roof over your head and all those other creature comforts, but it isn’t everything. It is still and always will be true that the best things in life are free. Give someone a smile, a hug, a visit and watch their world shine.

I really like the MasterCard commercials, now there is a piece of advertising genius. Not only does it do a good job of making you think MasterCard, but it also does a good job of reminding you of what is really important and what you are actually spending the money for.

Money is never the reason you do what you do! If you remember only one thing from me this year – Money is not what you are working for. You are working for those things that bring a tear to your eye and you sigh “priceless.”

Developing A Reputation

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

What does it take to be a good consultant?

Would you hire you?

Is your business dependant on you’re being able to attract and maintain relationships with others as “the” mentor or consultant? If the answer is yes, then the answer to the first two questions are all important. Many consultants fail because the belief system is not in place. Many just don’t believe their advice to be worth paying for.

How do you turn that belief system around until you are able to name your price and get it not just once but enough to make a living doing what you love?

A very dear friend is probably one of the most marvelous css designers I have yet to meet. Her graphics are some of the best, yet she cannot sell a design package to save her. Why?
Creating a product takes talent while marketing a product takes skill. That is where a consultant is worth his weight in gold. It is one thing to know how to do a thing and be paid for it and quite another to be able to teach that skill to others.

As a frequent flier, I get annoyed when other passengers disregard the airline attendant’s pleas to stay seated when the plane taxies to the gate. One attendant captured my heart by announcing: ‘The captain will be parking the aircraft at Gate 41 in approximately two minutes. I’ve seen the captain’s car. So if I were you, I’d remain seated.’

Consulting is perhaps the most accessible entrepreneurial business one can undertake because there’s basically zero start-up cost. There’s no office to rent, no inventory to buy, no special equipment, no franchise fees, no incorporation costs, and you can spend as little or as much as you want on advertising and marketing. Simply put, all you really need is to know how to do something that most people don’t know how to do and would be willing to pay money to either learn how to do or have it done for them. Just about anyone can hang up their shingle and say, “I’m a consultant”.

Of course, that’s why consultants have developed a bad reputation in some ways. Jokes abound about it:

Good Morning!

I Have Been Thinking

I do hope that you had as wonderful a holiday this weekend as we did. I hate to admit it but everything was so good I overate again. But oh my, everyone out did their dishes for Christmas eve dinner.
I have to tell you I was pretty amazed when at 8:30 in the morning the children were still not up. Guess they just plain played too hard on such a beautiful day on Sunday.
Now it is back to work and getting ready for the New Year ahead. Are you plans all put together so you know exactly what you will be doing the coming January?
January comes with hope for a more prosperous year than the previous one. Will your be? It will if you make it so! It will if you decide what you want to do, work out just how it will get done and finally click of the actions one at a time until each and every goal is accomplished. It will if you are grateful for what you already have. It will if you are appreciative of what others do for you. It will if you give without the expectation of getting in return.
Again, I am running my theme for the year contest. 2007 what will it be? The theme must rhyme with seven and must make a positive statement. Submit your entry through the contact form at WinAssoc

My daughter Marina worked in my law office while she attended graduate school. One morning a call came in for her. I said she wasn’t in yet and offered to take a message. The caller said she’d phone back later. At 11:00 a.m., the caller tried again, and I reported that Marina had gone to lunch. The last call came at 3:30 p.m. “I’m sorry,” I said, “she’s left for the day. May I take a message?” “Yes,” the caller replied. “How can I get a job with you?”

After an exhausting weekend, I woke up Monday morning and sleepily packed lunch for my eight-year-old child. When I got home from work late that day, she handed me a note from her teacher, requesting that I see her. “What’s this all about?” I asked sternly. Opening her lunch box, my daughter showed me the drink I had packed for her that morning. It was a can of beer.

Have you ever tried to design your web site with a beautifully selected font, only to realize that most folks don’t have it installed on their computer?

This means your web page won’t look great to the majority of your viewers. They will only see the font they have on their own computers.

The Problem

Most computers come with only a certain number of fonts. An older computer will contain different fonts from newer ones. ie if you include a font from your Windows XP operating system for your web site design, it may not show up for folks that use the Windows 98 operating system. The font on your web page will default to what is on the person’s computer, creating a distorted looking font.

The Solution – is in the study hall!

I Have Been Thinking

I admit it! Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by the seemingly endless streams of paperwork and wonder if I’ll ever be able to organize it all. Emails or Ezines I want to keep, ideas I found on the Internet, notes of ideas that popped into my head as I was driving from one place to another, newspaper clippings… I would file and file and file and then forget where that article was that I needed to complete the project that was due last Thursday!

I have been an avid list-maker all my life out of necessity, juggling a 9 to 5 work life, family time, a home-based business and taking care of my aging mother; as well as having a number of hobbies such as scrapbooking and painting, clothing design and creation, crafts being the family historian. It is true that my whole love of the Internet and web design came from my love of art and design through scrapbooking.

For all of you super-busy people I have put together some handy tips to help you organize your life and keep your sanity. Especially these last two weeks of the year. They truly are among the busiest times.

A new young blonde bride calls her mother in tears. She sobs, ‘Robert doesn’t appreciate what I do for him!’ ‘Now, now,’ her mother comforted, ‘I am sure it was all just a misunderstanding.’ ‘No, mother,’ the young woman laments. ‘I bought a frozen turkey loaf and he yelled at me about the price.’ ‘Well, that is being miserly,’ the mother agreed, ‘Those turkey rolls are only a few dollars.’ ‘No, mother it wasn’t the price of the turkey roll, it was the airplane ticket.’ ‘Airplane ticket…. What did you need an airplane ticket for?’ ‘Well mother, when I went to fix it, I looked at the directions on the back and it said, ‘PREPARE FROM A FROZEN STATE,’ so I flew to Alaska.’

Teamwork and Harmony

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

This is turning out to be a most inspiring week. Sunday the children’s Sunday school group presented their Christmas performance. All I could do was cry when my grandson sang his solo. Mind you this is a boy who hardly opens his mouth even to speak. He sang clearly and loud enough to be heard in the back of the room. Last night we went to the children’s choir performance in the middle school. The instructor had 300 children in the 6th and 7th grade on the stage all at one time! It was quite a sight and quite a sound to hear these children in complete unison and harmony.

Teamwork is never more evident than it is in the field of art. Harmony means every one on key and singing their own notes. Hand gestures when singing have to be carefully synchronized for the effect to be created.

The Holiday parades and the marching bands are more evidence of the work kids do to stay in tune and in time.

All manner of art includes the same elements of rhythm, harmony. That even extends to the art of building and designing web sites. It includes putting together the voices of the products that will work well together. It takes teamwork with more harmony than a symphony orchestra to keep things running smoothly and producing the expected results.

In business and especially business on the Internet, I do want to emphasize, no marketer is ever an island. You’ve got to leverage your time and resources with fellow marketers to improve yourself and to maximize your success.

There is only so much time each day to produce a product then market that product to make any profit at all. The answer lies in teamwork and working in harmony with others. With that said I want to give you a heads up on a new class upcoming in the Internet Income Lab. Steve Watson will be conducting the Niche University on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Do plan to join us.

If you’re all set to create profitable joint ventures, here are the top 7 insider tips to get them going: from Ewen Chia Most marketers miss out on huge chunks of available profits by not doing enough joint ventures.
It’s the easiest way to leverage on resources you wouldn’t otherwise have.

There’re probably two reasons why joint ventures are not used fully. These are the fear of work and fear of failure. But do you know, you’ve failed in the first place by having this mindset?
