Conversion Ratio

Good Morning!
Have Been Thinking

So much to think about so much to get done and so little time to do it all. Doesn’t it sometimes feel that way? I think about Willie Wonka when he said, “so much time, so little to do, no reverse that!”  He should never have said reverse that! Wouldn’t it be nice if we could make more time, just create it out of thin air? Say poof and we have another hour before the deadline is upon us. I am afraid what most of us do is take the hours out of sleep time or away from the family. Sometimes it cannot be helped, but if you find yourself stealing time better take a good look at where you might be wasting it. Time can never be re-deposited to your account it can never be saved back we can only make the best use of it while we have it.

I was on the subway, sitting on a newspaper, and a guy comes over and asks ‘Are you reading that?” I didn’t know what to say. So I said yes. I stood up, turned the page, and sat down again.

Cutting the cost per response is good advertising. What is the formula? For every $100.00 invested in advertising, how much response would be required to make the cost affordable? That depends on your conversion ratio, not response. It is important, no vital that you get hits to your web site, but more important than getting hits, the conversion ration has to pay the bills and then some.

The formula H / NM = CR   In plain English – Hits divided by new members = conversion ratio.  FACT: People surfing the internet are looking for *free stuff. So give them *free!  Join my newsletter list and receive a *free copy of … Then make sure *free is meat and potatoes.

Real Joint Ventures

Good Morning!

I Have Been Thinking

Can you always be prepared 100%? No matter how hard you work, plan and prepare isn’t there always something that comes up that was unexpected? Expecting the unexpected is something that comes with experience in any industry. Keeping good notes and records when you are first starting out in the industry is one way to begin knowing how to handle the unexpected. All of the little tips you get via e-mail every day from everywhere, what do you do with them? Do you read and delete? Do you think to yourself, I have to remember that one then delete? Do you file them away on your computer and have a way to retrieve them later? Information management is just as important a skill as time management so starting next week lets look at some ways to control and have use of all that information you see every day.

A hardworking female executive dies and meets St. Peter at the pearly gates and he says, “You’ve shown an outstanding aptitude for making business decisions. Choose whether you will go to heaven or to hell.”
“I don’t know!” she flounders.
“Tell you what,” St. Peter says, “You can have 24 hours in heaven and 24 hours in hell. Then you have to decide where to spend eternity.”
“Okay then,” she says. “I’ll start with heaven since I’m here already.”
She goes in the pearly gates and makes some acquaintances. They have a nice walk among beautiful gardens. They have a nice quiet lunch. They have a nice stroll along a pristine, white, sandy beach looking out on brilliant blue ocean. At the end of the day she is shown to a nice room, and has a quiet meal on the balcony, looking out over the setting sun and the ocean. She marvels at the scenic beauty of heaven.
The next morning, St. Peter takes her to the fiery gates of hell and hands her off to Satan.
Satan takes her to a power breakfast given in her honor. Then she is escorted to a tennis club where she is greeted by her old boss, some co-workers, and previous business acquaintances. She plays a few sets of tennis and catches up on the gossip. At lunchtime her old boss takes her to a gourmet restaurant and she has an excellent meal with vintage wine.
After lunch he takes her to an exclusive golf course and they play 18 holes of golf. She runs into other business acquaintances and catches up on news and gossip.
After golf, he drops her at a spa where she is pampered and spoiled by beauty and body treatments. When she is finished at the spa, an acquaintance takes her shopping at designer stores. She picks out a fabulous evening gown, and Satan himself takes her to a huge party with drinking, dancing, gourmet food, and famous people.
At the end of the evening, a stretch limo drops her off at a five-star hotel. As she soaks in the Jacuzzi tub, and sips the complimentary champagne, she ponders eternity.
The next morning, she meets St. Peter at the pearly gates.
“Well, have you made your decision?” He asks.
“I’ve decided on hell,” she announces.
“So be it.” St Peter waves goodbye and she reappears before the fiery gates of hell.
Once inside she is teamed up with her old boss again, only this time everyone is wearing rags. They are filthy, diseased, malnourished, and living in a barren desert. They have to scrounge for food, water, clothing, even shade.
“What happened!” She exclaimed.
“Well,” said her boss, “Yesterday you were a recruit. Today you are staff.”

Do you have someone in your local area you can joint venture with? No, I am not talking about the affiliate kind of joint ventures you see proliferating the web, but a real you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours kind of joint venture. I work with a local scrapbook store. I do the work on her website and help out in the store a few hours a week (like 12 so she can have a few hours off.) For that, she gives out my flyers in the store and I can use the “crop” room to conduct my design classes. Sure does beat $250.00 room rental in a hotel room and the exposure is wonderful. My tag line has been for a very long time, “if you can create a scrapbook page, you can create a web page.” No matter what it is you are doing you can find a business that can compliment what you are doing.

Romance Your Offers

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Need another place to meet people and exchange ideas. The Opportunity meeting place is in pre-launch and promises to be just the place to network with like minded people. Come in and stay as long as you like. Then if you find there are people you would like to network with you can join the group and even become a part of the inner circle of executives. Trainings will be done by people who are doing the work and can prove an internet income in excess of $200,000 a year. I know that I am looking forward to it and I do hope you will join me there. Look to the forum for links to the Opportunity Meeting Place.

A little old lady buys a pair of parrots, but cannot identify their
sexes. She calls the shop, and the man there advises her to watch them carefully and all would become clear in time. She spends weeks staring at the cage and eventually catches them doing what comes naturally. To make sure she doesn’t get them mixed up again, she cuts out a ring from a piece of cardboard and puts it round the male parrot’s neck. A while later, the local priest visits the old lady. The male parrot takes one look at the father’s collar, wolf whistles, and says, ”I see she caught you, too.”

Can you romance any offer and make it more effective? I believe you can. Hey look at what the Army, Navy and Marine recruiters do and say. They can in one minute on TV make the military look glamorous and the thing to do. Well, it is the thing to do but just because a thing is “right” does that make it attractive?  Romancing a product message means good word stories that touch the heart. They address the inner most desire to have or not to have.  Look at your product or service today are you writing powerful, benefit-dripping offers that your prospect couldn’t possibly say no to?

Business Proposals

Good Morning!

I Have Been Thinking
Be sure to read the article I posted in the forum yesterday. http://www.winassoc.com//phpbb/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?p=747#747 We can’t make any money at all writing proposals although they may be an important part of the selling process that you must do. Asking a person what they need to know in order to make a decision can often lead to a very quick conversation rather than writing a proposal that may never reach the decision maker.

Conclusions

I Have Been Thinking
Have you ever been guilty of jumping to wrong conclusions? Not me, never! Oh yea. What is going on in your mind? Why do we do that?  Acting unconsciously or overreacting is something we are all guilty of doing. It is also something we have to learn to control. I like to call in the “hot stove syndrome”. One time somewhere you touched a hot stove or were told so many time, “don’t go near there it is hot.” So you learned not to touch the stove because if you did you were going to be burned, right. But, is it ever carried overboard? Is there conclusions drawn in inaccurate information? Think about it before acting.

As she sat by him, he said, “You know what? You have been with me all
through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me.
When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by
my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health
started failing, you were still by my side… You know what?”

“What dear?” She asked gently.

“I think you bring me bad luck.”

How powerful are your offers?  Like it or not it is all about closing techniques whether it is written in ads and good follow-up or in person doing a presentation to a prospective client or member. He is thinking two things: 1. what’s in it for me and 2. can I do it?  If you have done a good job of answering these two questions you will move the suspect to prospect. Give him a reason then explain the benefit. “When you join this evening, you will receive …” (reason)  then list benefits and what you are going to do to help him get started. (benefits)

Some small-time crooks decided that people were so stupid that they would accept 18 dollar bills if somebody gave then any.
So they carefully made some plates and printed some up, and went to a small town to try them out.
They got up to a shopkeeper and talked for awhile, then casually said “Say, can you give me change for an 18 dollar bill?” “Sure” said the old shopkeeper. “What would you like, three 6’s or two 9’s?”

What do you say when someone answers an ad or calls you as a result of your flyers?
Everyone seems to want a script.
You: Hello, name of business your name
Mz. Prospect: I am calling about the ad you placed, what can you tell me
You: May I ask you a question? (Wait for response) How much time and investment are you willing to give to (then quote from your ad) learn to run a business from home on your computer?
Mz. Prospect:  Take note of the answer she or he gives you – important
You: Good! Are you at a computer where we can talk right now, I would like to have about 20 minutes of your time.
Or
Thank you for calling. I appreciate your honesty but I am looking for people who want to train at home which means they must be willing to set aside 2 – 4 hours a day as an apprentice, and they must be willing to invest no less than $70.00 a month for software, and materials they will use in their new career.
If they can go to the conference room with you for about 20 minutes, are you prepared to do a presentation in that time. If not, schedule an appointment in the next 24 hours. Get an email address to send her the link to the conference room. Stay on the phone until you see the person log in.
What does this take? It takes about 2 minutes on the phone to determine is a person is really interested in your ad. You want to talk to people that are ready to listen.

HomeMade Signs

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Today’s class in the Internet Income lab has been cancelled. There are times when I meet myself coming and going. I hate to admit it but even I have a difficult time keeping up with a busy schedule. I have a series of reminders on my computer, but I can’t take my computer with me. I am terrible at keeping two appointment books and keeping them both current. I have said it before, and I dare to say it again. Control your time or it will take over and control you. The other side of the coin definitely becomes control your own time or someone else will do it for you.

Can you make signs on your computer and get them up in your neighborhood? Of course you can. I make mine just like a wanted poster – and on goldenrod paper. It seems to get the most attention. I have a take one box that I hang from the window of my car so people walking by can “take one” and they seem to ok. I do have a Velcro snap on the acrylic box so papers cannot fly all over the parking lot, but my car goes everywhere and so does the advertising.  (I don’t print them on my computer I make copies at the local copy store. Cost is usually about $6.00 per 100.
It’s Wanted – a silhouette of a woman – Do you know this person?
She is a self starter, is willing to train for a new career working from home. Call me   Short, sweet and to the point.
